Let's Divide - I

Simple Division: 2-Digit by 1-Digit Practice !

In this worksheet, you will solve division problems with 2-digit dividends and single-digit divisors. You’ll build confidence in basic division and strengthen your understanding of how numbers are split evenly.

Division Terms Reference Chart

1. Dividend

  • The number that is being divided

  • It's the total amount to split or share

   Example: In 48 ÷ 6, the dividend is 48

2. Divisor

  • The number you divide by

  • It shows how many groups you make or the size of each group

 Example: In 48 ÷ 6, the divisor is 6

3. Quotient

  • The answer to a division problem

  • It tells how many times the divisor fits into the dividend

Example: In 48 ÷ 6 = 8, the quotient is 8

4. Remainder

  • The amount left over when division is not exact

  • Only appears if the dividend doesn't divide evenly

Example: In 50 ÷ 6 = 8 R2, the remainder is 2

How They Work Together in Division

When you divide a number, the parts are connected by this formula:

Dividend=(Divisor×Quotient)+Remainder

This means:

  • You multiply the divisor and the quotient

  • Then you add the remainder (if there is one)

  • The result is the dividend
