Counting Carnival Six-in-One

Counting Carnival Six-in-One

Counting Carnival Six-in-One is an interactive  activity that combines six engaging mini-games to build foundational counting skills for children ages 4–6. Each round presents a clear task, immediate feedback, and playful visuals. The six games are:

  1. Counting with Birds – Call and Release the Bird: A bird perches on the screen for a number of chirps; children tap each chirp to “call” the bird and then tap the bird to “release” it, reinforcing one-to-one correspondence.

  2. More or Less: Two sets of objects appear side by side; children choose which set has more or which has fewer, strengthening comparison skills.

  3. Pop the Balloon: Numbered balloons float upward; children pop the balloon showing the target number to practice number recognition under time pressure.

  4. Ten-Frame Fill: A ten-frame grid is displayed with some markers filled; children drag counters to fill the remaining slots to match a given number, building subitizing and addition concepts.

  5. Count and Colour: A scene with various objects appears (e.g., apples on a tree); children count how many objects there are and then select the correct colour swatch to colour them, combining counting with fine-motor skills.

  6. Match the Number: A row of objects is shown alongside a bank of draggable number cards; children drag the card showing the correct count to match the objects, reinforcing one-to-one counting and numeral identification.

Immediate feedback—correct or gently corrective hints—ensures learners stay motivated and understand any mistakes.
